The moon forever pure shining in the garden
Gendo of Daitoku-ji
The brushstrokes are thick and powerful, rather unusual
for an enso.
Suga Gendo (1919-2005) was a Rinzai Zen monk and tea master
who served as abbot of several important temples. He was
also associated with Daitoku-ji in Kyoto for many years.
